Children and Youth

We believe that our children are part of God’s covenant family, learning to love God and follow Jesus as their Saviour and to respond with age-appropriate faith and service.

All of our children and youth ministries are led by volunteers from the church who have been screened with Working with Children Checks. We strive to embody the principles of ChildSafe and operate a culture of child safety that children and young people deserve.

During our Sunday morning service, a member of the Kids Talk Team invites the children to the front of the church to explore a the theme of the Bible passage for that service. Afterwards, children who are 3-4 years old up to Grade 2, head to Sunday School for a time of worship, learning and fun. Together with teachers and helpers the children participate in prayer and singing to the Lord, contribute to an offering, (supporting a sponsor child), and learn from the many Bible stories and activities.

Cadets (for boys) and GEMS (for girls) are our clubs for children and young people between 8 and Grade 7. The groups meet on alternate Friday nights at the church between 7-9pm, mixing having a lot of fun with activities including Bible study, badge and craft work, outings, games, and camps.

Our Youth Group, for Grades 8-12 meets weekly during school terms on a Friday evenings at the church, and for a fortnightly shared dinner on a Sunday evening at the home of a family from church.

Catechism classes are available for our young people aged 13 and above to receive instruction in the Christian faith and doctrine and are held weekly as an intensive during Terms 3 and 4 each year.
